It’s the end of the semester, and I haven’t been properly updating the blog. But here, without further delay, is this week’s Friday Cate:

Honest, officer! I only had one bottle!

Cate’s recently learned that she can rotate her walker around and move in different directions. She seems happy about it, too!

You know those cute little baby footprints you often see in a frame along with baby pictures? When you see those print-making kits in the store, they seem like an awfully easy thing to use. Just put your baby’s hand or foot on the stamp pad, then press the inked body part onto the paper.

Simple, right?

Cate thinks otherwise!

What’s this?

This is a picture of Cate’s first “steps” onto the sand at Myrtle Beach!

Cate’s not quite ready to crawl around in the sand. But she does want to roll in it!

Part of Cate’s first trip to Myrtle Beach involves shopping at the outlet stores. Before she can go shopping, though, she needs to be properly prepared.

Now Cate’s ready for a shopping day in the sun!

There won’t be very many posts this week, since I currently have very limited internet access. But here’s something I thought I would share with y’all.

Cate has noticed the cats. She has seen the cats for a while now. Up until recently, though, she’s seen the cats as similar to things you’d see on a television screen. The cats were things to watch, but not things to touch and interact with.

Not any more!

Cate now reaches for and touches the cats. They are lucky that she hasn’t yet discovered that cats have tails!

I missed posting a picture of Cate last week, since we had our hands full with Cate’s first illness. (Not an ear infection, surprisingly enough!) She’s better now, and back to grabbing everything in sight.

This is her bear!

I took this picture a day or two ago. Cate’s napping in the carseat after her ride home from the day care.

She’s “sleeping like a baby”. But I wonder … where, exactly, does the phrase “sleeping like a baby” come from? The phrase as most people use it refers to sleeping peacefully.

But babies? If our baby is typical (Google search suggests that she is), then “sleeping like a baby” is taking short naps. Between the naps?

Between naps, Cate wants to see everything. Lately, she’s also wanted to grab everything and put it into her mouth. The world must taste great!

Oh, and if you’d like a phrase that really does mean “sleeping peacefully”, might I suggest: “Sleeping like a cat”?

Here’s Cate in her new walker. (It’s probably best called a “stander” until Cate’s tall enough for her feet to reach the floor.)
